The Indian Army is currently seeking applications for the Short Service Commission (SSC) from eligible unmarried male and female engineering graduates. This exciting opportunity is set to begin in October 2026 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this prestigious role, candidates must possess a relevant Engineering degree. Furthermore, individuals must fall within the age range of 20 to 27 years as of October 1, 2026, meaning they should have been born between October 1, 1999, and September 30, 2006, inclusive.
Types of Commission
Upon selection, candidates will receive a Short Service Commission on probation, initially holding the rank of Lieutenant. During their training period, they will earn full pay and benefits associated with this rank. After successfully completing their training at PCTA, these officers will be confirmed in their Short Service Commission (Technical) also in the rank of Lieutenant. Notably, engineering graduates entering through the SSC (Technical) will benefit from an ante-date seniority of one year from their commission date.

- Major: Rs 69,400 - 2,07,200
- Lieutenant Colonel: Rs 1,21,200 - 2,12,400
- Colonel: Rs 1,30,600 - 2,15,900
- Brigadier: Rs 1,39,600 - 2,17,600
- Major General: Rs 1,44,200 - 2,18,200
- Lieutenant General HAG Scale: Rs 1,82,200 - 2,24,100
- Lieutenant General HAG+Scale: Rs 2,05,400 - 2,24,400
- VCOAS/Army Cdr/Lieutenant General (NFSG): Rs 2,25,000 (fixed)
- COAS: Rs 2,50,000 (fixed)
