In an inspiring turn of events, a sixth-grade class recently triumphed in our much-anticipated annual Class Contest. This contest, which kicked off in November, was organized by CBC Kids News to engage young minds in journalism and storytelling. One fortunate class from Canada had the amazing opportunity to pitch their unique news story idea to us, and we featured it on our website. Our CBC Kids News team collaborated with these students to refine their pitch, providing them with insights into the intricate process of developing a news story. Winning our Class Contest granted them a special chance to explore and pitch a story that caught their interest, and they chose to investigate the rigorous preparations of Olympic hockey players ahead of this prestigious multi-sport competition.
