Rampage Jackson and Ian Machado Garry fell out over a podcast misunderstanding Garry’s strong personality and the number of falsehoods spread about his personal life have left him with a sizable group of detractors, including both fans and fighters. Among those with the biggest grudge toward 'The Future' is former UFC light heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson, who fell out with the welterweight contender owing to a misunderstanding about a podcast appearance. While Garry was scheduled to appear on the Jaxxon Podcast at the start of UFC 298 fight week in February 2024, Jackson went on Ariel Helwani’s show a few days prior and claimed the Dublin native did not want to go on due to fear of being ridiculed. After catching wind of that, as well as the UFC legend’s comments regarding lies about his family, Garry issued a firm rebuttal. He called Jackson 'stupid' for making the claim days before he planned to go on and then pulled out of the podcast appearance. During a later episode featuring Anthony Pettis, Jackson recalled that moment while highlighting Garry as the sole fighter he dislikes. 'Right now, there’s only one fighter I don’t like — Ian Garry,' Jackson said. 'I can’t stand him. He’s a b—. Personally, I don’t like him. When we first started the Jaxxon Podcast, Bear told me that one fighter was worried about coming on 'cause he thought I was gonna make fun of him. I thought it was Ian Garry. I knew he was coming on the podcast, but I thought it was him who said that, but it wasn’t him. It was another fighter,' he added. 'Ian Machado Garry said, 'How the f— is Rampage so thick, so stupid he didn’t know I was coming on his podcast?'
